Young Saints :: Jeremiah

  • Clean hands and cover their mouths when they cough. :) // If someone is clearly under the weather notify Chad, Jimmy, or Heather.

  • This series life group material is going to be simpler by design. Just a few questions and some scripture and you all as leaders need to work to create an environment where the students become a part of the discipleship journey. They are Young Saints and we need to start treating them that way. (NO ANARCY THO. lol)

    • An easy way to do this is by listening and finding stories you can expand upon from their world.

    • Once they have skin in the game just ask genuinely inquisitive open ended questions that direct them back towards the truth that they are not to young to be used by God.

  • This is a great week to help students work through their testimony. Talk about how they can share and help them grow in that.

  • Ask the students what does it look like to speak up for someone? For Jesus?

    • Have them share examples from life where they spoke up, or someone in their life did.

    • Be aware of where conversations are going and moderate accordingly.

  • Ask them what keeps us from speaking out for Jesus in our lives?

  • Ask what are some ways they can you speak out for God, regardless of your age?

    • This could be a great place to ask them how you as leaders could do this and use that as conversation starters.

  • Have each students come up with one person they could share their testimony with this week?

    • Unpack testimony and make sure they understand it is as simple as talking about:

      • How they were before meeting Jesus.

      • How they met Jesus.

      • And how they are now.

  • Have a student read Jeremiah 1:4-9

    • God has had this conversation with every follower over and over. Talk about the times this has happened to you and to them. Move towards them knowing the truth of that last verse in their lives.

  • Have another student read 1 Peter 3:13-17

    • Talk about why or why not people around them never ask them where their hope comes from. Are we living lives in a way that makes those around us ask those questions?

  • Pray as a group that everyone would have an opportunity to share with someone this week, and the courage to do so when the time comes.

REMIND THEM ABOUT RADIANT AND THE FOUNDRY :)

We will know we have hit our target if:

-Students leave empowered to share their faith.

-Everyone spends more time in their lives looking for the opportunities God gives us to proclaim the gospel.

-They have been reminded about Radiant and The Foundry.
