Young Saints :: Fishes and Loaves

  • Clean hands and cover their mouths when they cough. :) // If someone is clearly under the weather notify Chad, Jimmy, or Heather.

  • Take a second to catch up after the break week:

    • What did they do over last week?

    • Any funny stories?

    • Share about your week also so it is a two way relationship.

  • This series life group material is going to be simpler by design. Just a few questions and some scripture and you all as leaders need to work to create an environment where the students become a part of the discipleship journey. They are Young Saints and we need to start treating them that way. (NO ANARCY THO. lol)

    • An easy way to do this is by listening and finding stories you can expand upon from their world.

    • Once they have skin in the game just ask genuinely inquisitive open ended questions that direct them back towards the truth that they are not to young to be used by God.

  • Ask if they have you ever felt unqualified to do something? What was that like?

  • Ask if they feel spiritually unqualified at times? Why or why not?

  • Ask How they can shift our focus from our limitations to God’s ability? (This may be a great place to look for ways to get them more involved in discipleship)

  • How can you practically be open to God this week? (Maybe check in with those who took the open challenge)

  • Have a student read 1 Timothy 4:12

    • Facilitate a conversation among the students where they work together to explore this verse.

  • Have another student read John 6:1-14

    • You can stop throughout the story to explore it if you’d like.

    • Facilitate a conversation among the students where they work together to explore the importance and impact the young boy had in this historical account.

    • Make sure they know they can live just as that boy did now.

  • Pray as a group about focusing on God’a ability and not our limitations.

REMIND THEM ABOUT RADIANT AND THE FOUNDRY :)

We will know we have hit our target if:

-Students connect with one another and you as leaders after this last break week.

-Students who have accepted the open challenge are reminded.

-They leave knowing they have the ability to impact those around them, especially adults, when they stop focusing on their limitations or the limitations others put on them and start focusing on God's abiltiy.

-They have been reminded about Radiant and The Foundry.
