Christmas Reminds us God is with us.
Even though Christmas is full of gift-giving, parties, and some last-minute shopping stress, what's most

Jesus' birth in a manger in Bethlehem. From this story, we'll remember the most important part of the
holiday—Christmas reminds us God is with us.

As a group, can we list all the items and people mentioned in "The 12 Days of Christmas?"
Who can you count on to bring fun, joy, encouragement, or peace just by being around them?
Would it have been more difficult to believe Jesus' arrival was good news if he had been born into a wealthy or powerful family? Why or why not?
If yourself in Mary and Joseph's position, how do you think Joseph felt leading up to Jesus' birth? How do you think Mary felt in her experience? What about the shepherds when they heard the news?
Read Matthew 28:20. How does Jesus' promise of presence with us help us as we face the world and all the problems we might see in it? What would it look like to trust this is true in your life?
Today, what is one way you will look for ways God might be with you, even in circumstances you might not normally expect?
