Seven Deadly Sins :: Pride
First things first spend a few minutes going over the Life Group Expectations with the students. Be clear and concise and make sure they each understand the expectations and what happens if they aren’t met
Secondly you will have a list of all the students who have registered in your group so far. Make sure you have any student there who haven’t filled out a connect card(that is anyone not on your sheet) fill it out so we can make sure and get an accurate list of groups this semester.(This can be found in the momentum app or by texting moxie to 555888)
Spend a few moments asking what they would like to accomplish over this semester in their life group. (Let us know what they say :) )
We learned about pride tonight and spoke about Nebuchadnezzer. Spend a few minutes talking about what stood out to them in the message.
Read James 4:6-10
6But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Discuss what this means with your group.
Finish life group out by revisiting our 3 steps from the message
Count others more significant then yourselves
Be a servant
Be obedient
What can each of them do to step into one of these this coming week? (Leaders make a list you can follow up with)
Finish with Prayer
We will know we have hit our target if:
-Students have an understanding of Life Group expectations
-Students leave with a simple next step for this coming week to fight pride
-And if we have a good list of those in our groups.
