Fullness :: The Produce

  • Use the lead app to check in students and make sure any students not listed fill out a connect card digitally.

  • Do not move on until check-in has happened and any students not listed have filled out a connect card.

Tonights all group is a little different. Chad left each student with a list of questions.

Start off by just catching up with students and ask them about their break week next week. Remind them there is no Moxie.

We talked about three places we could look to find out what kid of fruit we produce. Take some time to go back over each one to ensure students understand and then have a conversation with the intent of helping students answer those questions.

ACTIONS: (What do you actually do? How do you spend your time?)

  • Do I pray?

  • Do I invest in moxie?

  • Do I invest in your small group?

  • Am I a part of worship?

  • Do I serve others

  • Do I ever read MY bible?

ATTITUDES: (The way you feel about the things you do. )

  • How is my attitude when it comes to the things Jesus asks of me?

  • How is my attitude outside of Moxie?

  • Do I come to moxie to just hang out?

Would my friends say I am at the center of a lot of drama, or that I work towards peace?

DESIRES: (strong feelings to have or do something)

  • What do I desire?

  • Which of my desires move me towards sin?

Which of my desires move me towards righteousness?

CALL TO ACTION:

Our hope is each student would leave with the challenge to answer some of those questions before the next Moxie (gives him two weeks)

SCRIPTURE: This is a list of all the scripture we talked about tonight.

  • Galatians 5:22 - 23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

  • Matthew 7: 15-20
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

  • GALATIANS 5:16-17
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

  • John 15 4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

PRAY :)

We will know we have hit our target if:

-Students have an understanding of how the fruits of the spirit are not something we make ourselves do, but instead they are the by product, the natural outpouring, of a Christ follower.

-Each student leaves with a small card that has a few questions we have challenged them to answer.
