WHO :: King

  • Use the lead app to check in students and make sure any students not listed fill out a connect card digitally.

  • Do not move on until checkin has happened and any students not listed have filled out a connect card.

  • Take a moment to check in from two weeks ago: How did it go stepping into Following Jesus,

Building the church, and Burying Hell

  • Ask the students “What does it mean for Jesus to be our King?

    • Designation: Have a student read Matthew 3:16-17

    • Demonstration: Have another student read Matthew 4:11

    • Coronation: Have a different student read Matthew 27:29,31,37

  • Who is Jesus?

    • As we head into Collision weekend where we are exploring living fearless lives for those of us who follow Jesus already we will live lives that tell our story to the world.

  • Ask the students to tell you the gospel in their own words.

  • Ask the students who follow Jesus to answer these three questions:

    • What was life like before you knew Jesus?

    • How did you meet Jesus?

    • What is life like now that you follow Jesus?

  • They do this by literally stating the question in the answer. For example “My life was full of worry and getting into trouble with my parents before I knew Jesus.”

    • As leaders guide the conversation to how important being able to answer these questions can be as a kingdom worker and especially heading into Collision Weekend.

    • They will literally have an opportunity to share their testimony this way at Collision.

  • Pray as a group.

We will know we have hit our target if:

-Everyone can successfully tell their faith story by answering the three simple questions.

-Everyone has contemplated how they would explain the Gospel.

-People are clear on the Kingship of Jesus over all of reality.

-The students feel seen and heard from their leaders.
