  • Find out who is going to Mix or Move. Let the students know it is a great week to spend with a friend. Start them thinking about how and who they could invite from their friend groups.

  • Ask the students how they did focusing on God and removing distractions this past week.

We spent some time exploring what it means to live humble. About how God is doing the heavy lifting in our kingdom work.

Leaders: Lets start with the students and leaders sharing funny stories where they need to be humble: Chad told us about the time he got beat up by a dirt bike

What is a funny thing that has happened in your life
where you were humbled?

Read Philippians 2 1-13: Have each student read one verse going in a circle

Verse 3 says: “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Here Paul is calling the church to think of themselves less and other more.

Leaders:Explain to the students what this means and why believers need to think of other more than themselves:

Who are the people in your life
you need to think about more than yourself?

Verse 11 says: “and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

When we as followers of Jesus proclaim who he is in our life it brings Glory to God..

Leaders: Tell a story of baptism or friendship where you as a leader were able to step into proclaiming who Jesus is:

Has anybody ever told their friends or family who Jesus is to them?

Has anybody been baptized, which is a proclamation of who Jesus is in your life?

Is anyone interested in being baptized who hasn't been?

Leaders: Make sure if anyone is interested in being baptized that we get their info so we can continue that conversation with them and their parents over this next week.

Verse 13 says: “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. “

God is the one doing the heavy lifting. He is in you doing the work of changing your desires and guiding your actions. And when we are courageous enough to humble ourselves to obey him it bring God pleasure.

Leaders: If you have a story where you have seen God change your desires or your actions this is a good time to share.

What scares you about letting God change your desires and your actions?

What is one place in your life where you can let God do the heavy lifting in?

Give them the expectation that when we come back from Spring break you are going to ask them how that is going.

Pray about specific situation in their lives where
they need to think of themselves less.

Remind them there is no Moxie next week.
