Before you get into unpacking the life group content spend some time just checking in with the students to see how they are doing in their lives, especially in regards to any known struggles they have discussed in group but also if there are any victories they have had in the faith.

We spent some time exploring what it means to have certainty about the Gospel. About whether or not Jesus is who he says he is.

Whether you have given you’re life over to him or not everyone everywhere has times of doubt and confusion, questions and concerns. Because we are just human there is so much we don’t understand, but Jesus never asked us not to question. In fact he knows what we are thinking anyways. Even with Thomas, one of his disciples, we see Jesus step lovingly into his questioning.

We may not be able to find all the answers but we can definitely have open conversations about the things that confuse us, and we can search our bibles, and pray in those things.

Spend some time having open conversations about the things that creep up in their mind about God and about Jesus that you wish you had answers to..

Leaders: if there are any questions that are so perplexing you feel they need an answer but you in that moment cannot answer just let the student know you would love to explore the answer with them. We are all learners.

As we read through the new testament there are so many thing Jesus says about who he is and why he has come. And if we sit in a place where we believe he is who he says he is and we are certain of that we can find out awesome truths about God and about ourselves.

Read John 14:1-7

Verse 6 Says “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

What does this verse tell us about who Jesus is?

What does this verse tell us about ourselves?

Read Luke 5:17-25

Verse 20 says “And when he saw their faith, he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."

What does it mean that Jesus forgave his sins?

Read John 10:22-30

Verse 28 says “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. “

In this part of Jesus time on earth he lays down quite a few truths. In particular when he says he gives them eternal life who is he talking about and why?

Where there any other things in these passages that stood out to you?

Leaders: Let the students know this conversation is always open for discussion. Any time they have a question they can speak it in group and we will work out our faith together as a family. We want to come along side them and explore together.

Pray for the next week together as a group.
