In April of 2005, after a year of searching and seeking God’s direction, Bart and Jodi Stone felt God was calling them to something new – they just weren’t sure what it was! They were on staff at Northeast Christian Church, a large, contemporary, growing church in Louisville, KY. It was safe and comfortable, but God was calling. In May they were challenged by a National Church Planting Organization, Stadia, to plant a church in Henry County, Georgia, and by August the decision was made to go.
The Stone’s, as well as Lee & Debbie Swaggerty and Seth & Melissa Hoover, moved to Henry County in 2006. On January 21, 2007, seven churches and over 180 individuals partnered together to launch Momentum Christian Church. In the past few years we have grown, lives have been transformed, marriages restored, children have been adopted, homeless have been served, addictions have been defeated, widows have been cared for, and great relationships have been built. We have been a partner with our community and have begun to seen an impact across the world. Most importantly God has been glorified!
It’s been an incredible ride as Momentum’s story has been a small part of God’s great story! We’ve recently unleashed our 3-yr vision to plant three new campuses in the next three years, and are excited to see God do more than we could ask or imagine.
